Easter

Easter weekend turned out to be beautiful for many reasons.  We spent time together as family, we didn't have any real agenda or timelines, and the weather was GORGEOUS!  I think it's the first time we have had two days back to back of SUNSHINE!!!  (Can you tell it's been a long winter??)

On Friday we dyed eggs.  I think its the first time Mikaela got to experience this fun tradition.  She did a great job, and even enjoyed cracking and eating them the next morning.  

On Saturday, we headed to the zoo!  The animals were getting Easter treats and the zoo had egg hunts and various other fun activities.  We watched the otters open their pinata and play with plastic eggs in a pool.  Mikaela insisted on bringing her money to the zoo.  She cashed in for tokens to ride the carousel - but then changed her mind.  Instead, she settled on popcorn!  And not just any bag, but the one more then half her size.  After more then 3 hours at the zoo, we decided to head home for naps/lunch, but M was not quite ready, wanting to see more animals

 Easter Sunday we woke up to more SUNSHINE - which was just a beautiful reminder of the GLORY that he has RISEN!!!!   Spring has brought new life!  And my tulips were blooming at the right time as reminder of this. 

After brunching at church, Mikaela participated in an Egg hunt on the playground. 

 

We headed over to have lunch with family, enjoy games and play with the new chicks (of course no photos of this). 

 Happy Easter!  He has RISEN.  He has risen INDEED!
