Tea for Two

The third annual KNOBS (acronym for all of our last names) Tea Party

It is an honor to host this tea party every summer.  This year I opted for a more restful and easy preparation.  I of course consulted Pinterest for some ideas.  Using items I already had to create the look of my table.

It was a beautiful day - so we got to have tea outdoors.  After eating we escaped inside into the cool AC house.  :)

The Tea Go-ers
I kept things simple this year with just blueberry muffin (from what we had picked the week before), cookies and a curry shrimp tea sandwich.  Mom brought a chicken tea sandwich.  It was a lovely time, and the ladies helped me clean up afterwards.  Can' wait for next years tea.

Stay-cation

In July we had a mini family staycation.  It was great time to rest, relax and re-fuel.  Todd took an entire week off, and I took the last half of the week off.

To kick off Todd's vacation, I sent him a text message to answer one question - stay in or go out.  Mikaela and I planned the rest from there.  He decided to go out - so it was a fish themed night!  We went to a new to us restaurant that served seafood.  Then we used some free movie tickets to see "Finding Dory"

The next day, Todd cashed in on his Dad's Day present.  We went to the Museum of Flight (although next time, I would leave the little at home - too much standing and reading for this moving girl).  It was fun to get to go into the different airplanes on site.

Inside Air Force One
This was the Air Force One that LBJ took when JFK was shot.  Talk about history!!!  So neat

Daddy wanted to go crabbing, so we checked out a nearby park.  We had no such luck, but we did enjoy the outside time.

Daddy stayed home the entire week with miss Mikaela.  I'm not sure who had more fun, and at the end of the week, who was more sad at daycare drop off the following Monday.

Cousin Time
Our third anniversary was celebrated!  We used a gift certificate to go out to dinner, and M stayed the night with family.
Flowers sent to work
Todd contacted the lady who did flowers for our wedding.  This is a replica of my wedding bouquet.

We took in a zoo day!  Whew, Miss M - was in quite the mood.  Todd and I didn't know if we even felt comfortable going to the zoo for because we didn't know what to do.  In the car the entire ride down - she was shouting "NO!" and whining quite a bit.  But alas, we decided to go with it.  Everyone behaved by the time we got to the animals, and off we went.

Family
Then, we went camping up at Baker Lake.  Quite a few of my clients had shared how nice it was - about a 2 hour drive from the house.  Camping was quite primitive for me - thank goodness we only went for one night.  Outhouse, no electricity (which meant sleeping on the ground), and one water spout for the entire campground...

Splashing in the Lake

It was quite a fun week, and enjoyed by all of us.  We were quite sad to have the time end.

National Ice Cream Day
Of course we ended with celebrating National Ice Cream Day!  With a trip to Snow Goose.   Little miss celebrated in style with ice-cream pants.
