M's game

Day two of Birthday week takes us to Safeco field.  We took advantage of a Christmas gift that Todd had for tickets.

Like I've said before it's all because of the Mariner's that Todd and I had a first date.  He texted me one sunny Sunday in August 2011 to attend a baseball game.  Knowing that my team was in town, I decided to take a chance and say yes.
Prior to the game, and I've got Todd wearing a SEATTLE hat

So, this year we decided to catch a M's v Angels game in Seattle (and we could even say we celebrated one year since our engagement which was 8-26).

Here we are at the ballgame!

On a side note, I thought that the R fielder was playing pretty horribly and voiced my opinion to Todd, that he should go.   Little did I know 4 days later he was CUT from the team.  I'm thinking I might switch careers and manage baseball.  = )

ratatouille

We kick started birthday week in the Bush household, with dinner and a movie.  I'm not exactly sure how it all came about, but we got the idea to rent ratatouille and also make the recipe.

I was inspired by Julia Child's recipe from "How to Master French Cooking".

We started off with appetizer's of chip and dip, we started the movie and I began cooking away.

Bon Appetite!

California weekend!

Todd and I went down to California this past weekend, packed full with fun, family and friends.  Couldn't ask for a better trip back.  It was a quick, but fabulous trip.  I couldn't believe the last time I was there was when I was packing up Beauty for my return trip to Washington back in December.

We landed at 12:30 AM and the whole Fam Bam came to pick us up at LAX.

We woke up Saturday morning to attend the wedding of James (one of Todd's groomsmen) and Lindsay.  They had a unique wedding, and one I was really excited to attend, especially once we received their save the date - a 'ticket to a hockey game'.

Here is the wedding ceremony, taking place at the ice hockey rink.
Once they were married, her new last name was revealed on the back of her jersey.

Following the ceremony, there was a pick up hockey game.  Here is my cute hockey playing hubby.  He didn't want to pack all his goalie gear down on the plane, so he skated out instead.

The following day, Clim and Lisa, held a reception for us at their place.  They did a wonderful job, and it was fun to meet Todd's family friends.  We had a great time, and all too soon it was time to go home and back to Washington!

Wedding Day

We just got our photos back from our wedding day, and it has been so fun to re-live the big day (speaking of which tomorrow marks ONE month of marriage! Unfortunately, I have running club for work and Todd is reffing hockey, so we will have to celebrate at a later date).

Here are a few pics from the day
The Ceremony Set Up

The first look.

I was emotional walking over to see Todd for the first time on our wedding day.  We had decided to take all our photos before the ceremony.   Todd turned around after I tapped him on the shoulder, and gave me one of the warmest embraces!  After we both took each other in, I noted that there was bird poo on Todd's jacket, and he was more concerned that I had a BIG poo stain right on the center of my belly!  I immediately started to laugh, and went looking for my dad, who is known as the stain master.  Dad started dabbing at my dress with a napkin, while Aunt Melanie drove to the grocery store (we were in the middle of no where) for a tide stick.  But she never made it to the store, she stopped at the first house, who had kids playing in the yard, and asked there was a tide stick that perhaps we might have.  A great attitude, a concerned almost-hubby and helpful family, a disaster was avoided.
Can you spot the bird poo?

Todd and I met with Pastor Mark for counseling prior to the wedding.  By doing so, he was also able to get to know us more as a couple, and was able to personalize the message out our wedding.  Both Todd and I love sports, and enjoy watching our teams together.  So, we have a tangible memory from our wedding. Ice Cream Cutting

Our first date included frozen yogurt, and neither of us are big into cake.  We wanted to personalize our wedding with ice cream (mint chocolate chip for me and rocky road for Todd).  Our guests were able to make their own sundaes on the day.  Thank to my Mom for making it possible, and our family and few friends for scooping enough for all our guests!

Wedding Festivities - Baseball Games

To kick off the wedding festivities, we invited family and the bridal party to join us at Safeco Field.  Todd and I had our first date at Angel Stadium, for an Angels v Mariner's game.  Todd still claims he did not know that I was from Washington when he invited me, I'm not sure I believe him.   (Sidenote, the Angels and Mariner's played each other when we got married at Safeco, and yes they WON!)

The game was Boston v Mariners.  I couldn't even tell you how the game was, pretty sure the Mariner's got creamed.  I was too busy catching up with all the friends and family that flew in to help us celebrate our big day!!!

new beginnings

We came back into Seattle from Hawaii at 11:30 at night, but then didn't get to our new home until ONE in the morning.  But we were both so excited, and had that pinch me is this real excitement amongst us.   Can you believe we are really married???  Can you believe we OWN our first home!?!

Todd, had already spent one or two nights sleeping on the floor before the wedding, but this was my first night.  Because we were so excited, we stayed up playing a few games of Speed and War.

Our first "meal" at home was Crab, Oysters on the shell and a nice glass of wine.  Mom and Dad passed on fresh caught seafood to us.  We felt like we were high class (except we don't have a table and chair yet) so we picnicked on the floor.
