At her six month check up missy weighs 14 lbs 11 ounces (23%) and 27.17 inches (91%). Grandpa B says those are the numbers for a UW shooting guard :) and Nana says what a lean machine!
During the last month Mikaela had her 2nd cold and we survived a weekend long nursing strike (which was rougher on Momma then anybody else).
At the end of the last month we had introduced some solids, but she didn't really seem that interested so we took a break from feeding her. But when Grandma and Grandpa were here to visit we had some leftover squash, which we then pureed. Mikaela loved her squash!! and has since tried banana's (which she thinks are ok), and peas which we hide in her squash to get her to eat them. We are making her food, which isn't really all that tricky. We steam the food, puree it, place it in ice cube trays to freeze it, and then thaw it out the night before in the fridge.
We went out to dinner, and the waitresses all came by to see Mikaela. One of them even told me that Mikaela looked like ME!!!! She was the first person to say this - and it totally made my evening.
We took Mikaela to her first movie - Cinderella. We learned to have courage and to be kind. I was a bit nervous driving up to the theater, wondering what was I thinking?? But this was a great first choice, as there were LOTS of little girls and their families, and we fit right in with our little noises. Mikaela wore her headphones to block the loudness, and just like Momma she even fell asleep :)
I 'made' Mikaela's St. Patricks Day outfit and used the cricut to iron on for her shirt. The whole outfit was inspired by a bow that I thought she had to have.
Mikaela rolled over from back to belly going over her L shoulder. She is still working on rolling to the Right and needs minimal assistance. She has since forgotten that rolling from belly to back is an option, and often likes to 'sky dive' instead.

Mikaela took in her first hockey game.
She also got to go on her first field trip with friends to the Point Defiance Zoo!
The last weekend before Mikaela turned 6 months Mikaela sprouted her first TWO teeth at the same time. Stay tuned next month for pictures of her 'new' smile.
