The table and chairs were hand me downs from my aunt and uncle who had kept them in storage for several years.  They passed them down to Todd and I, which was a blessing as we began to furnish our home.  With their permission, I had it in my mind to give them a face lift, and have them match the rest of our furniture. 
A few lessons that were learned:
1. Youtube and DIY blogs make stripping the finish look A TON easier then it really is!!! 
2. Don't take apart the chairs, and then expect it to fit back together again.  Thank goodness, Todd was able to find a store that sold unfinished chairs, that matched perfectly.
3. Start with a smaller project, or work on one piece at a time.
4. Always be encouraging, even when the end doesn't seem possible.  Even after eating dinner on the floor for 2 plus months.

Maybe it would have been easier to buy a new set and chairs, and possibly cheaper (after buying the stain, the stripping, the finish, and 3 new chairs).  But look at how amazing it is!  And now Todd has a great story for his first home improvement project!
